...i can guarantee you not one ap english kid is asleep right now

On September 16, 2006 all AP English students got the assignment to write a 6-10 pg. analysis essay that would be due February 26th, 2007...in 2 minutes it will be Feb 26th. i can guarantee you that right now not one student is asleep...personally i got about 3 more hrs of writing left.

Formal writing is fake. Nobody really talks that way. Thats why i dont like it. i like just writing. Regardless of grammer and all that because thats just so real...this is coming from somebody who wants to teach English hah oh well. ill deal.
Seriously though i love the article American Fat by Russell Baker.
"Americans don't like plain talk anymore. Nowadays they like fat talk. Show them a lean, plain word that cuts to the bone and watch them lard it with thick greasy syllables front and back until it wheezes and gasps for breath as it comes lumbering down upon some poor threadbare sentence like a sack of iron on a swayback horse."

i dont have time to find the actual article to link but its a good one. so read it.

The first couple sentences of my extended essay are the following....
In the musical Urinetown, written by Mark Hollmann, the character of Hope Cladwell teaches Bobby Strong to make decisions based on the desires of his heart rather than the expectations of his family and the town in which they live through the song Follow Your Heart. In the song Bobby wonders “Follow my heart? But to where?” to which Hope replies “To wherever your heart tells you to go. Even to the clouds, if that’s where your heart commands” (Hollmann). Bobby and Hope then betray the expectations of their families to fight the law of paying to urinate within their town. Although the main couple in the novel Pride and Prejudice do not band together to save their town from unfair urination laws, they do follow their hearts just as Hope Cladwell suggests.

...im totally going to fail haha. i dont really care tho because If you read that paragraph you would know it was written by me. and i like that.

For the record the thesis of my paper:
In the novel, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen argues that decisions in behavior should be made because of a person’s desires and not because of societal and familial expectations in order to gain happiness as shown through her portrayal of main characters.

...wish me luck

and can we all just take a moment and realize that we can now expect to hear this announcement "and now former Vice President and Oscar winner, Al Gore" *vomit flies*
Yay for Forrest Whittaker and Jennifer Hudson! Yeeeaaaa
...and screw Melissa Etheridge. :) read the verdict

the official first post

So we're gonna need to give me time to get used to this. ive been a religious livejournal user for 3 years but this new format is boggling my mind.

Also? on livejournal i knew who read every post but on here you dont know who is reading it and who isnt...thats intimidating.

Reason for making this? eehhh because my sister really wanted me too and i like that now all the siblings have them. i mean even though im still stuck in Naper and you are all living lives of glory we still all are separated and its not like i sit in my room and do nothing...i do get out sometimes.

Anyway...
i just got on my yahoo! and saw this video...

3 things...
1. makes me feel really good that i dont spend all my time accomplishing things such as this
2. def caught by surprise when he continued in naming the books of the Book of Mormon
3. that man has breath support that would make even kellner jealous

and now LOST has officially ended so im gonna go watch it commercial free...
this is a rare moment for me as i always have my LOST nights with my friends where we watch it together, eat, scream when necessary, and party in the name of LOST but as i am burdened with stomach flu i will be watching it alone. Excited for the Jack flashback though...hopefully we will get a plethora of Jears* and figure out where those tattoos came from.

*Jears are Jack tears. Most often seen on every single LOST episode whether it be in a cage, jungle, with family, with friends, with lovers(er nvm Kate is with Sawyer now), Jears are always there. read the verdict
"And all the time the joke is that the word 'mine' in its fully possessive sense cannot be uttered by a human being about anything. In the long run either our Father or the Enemy will say 'mine' of each thing that exists, and specifically of each man. They will find out in the end, never fear, to whom their time, their souls, and their bodies really belong - certainly not to them, whatever happens"
- C.S. Lewis, Screwtape Letters

"The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart"
- Elizabeth Foley

"Its today!" squeaked Piglet,
"My favorite day," said Pooh

"The clouds above us join and separate,
the breeze in the courtyard leaves and returns.
Life is like that, so why not relax?
Who can stop us from celebrating?"
